Domaine Jacques Prieur
Domaine Jacques Prieur is pretty much the only family-run Domaine in Burgundy with that many exclusive vineyards. No one in Burgundy has such an impressive list of Grand Cru vineyards like Domaine Jacques Prieur. Musigny, Le Chambertin, Clos de Bèze, Echezeaux, Clos Vougeot, Corton-Bressandes, Corton Charlemagne, Chevalier Montrachet and Le Montrachet. Domaine Jacques Prieur in Meursault was established in 1870. Like many other estates, they have had its ups and downs over the past century.Jean-Pierre Labruyère bought 70% of the stake in 1988 from the Prieur family, and the remaining 30% is still owned by the Prieur family. Mugneret is a well-known family name in Burgundy, there are currently four Domaines in Vosne Romanee with the Mugneret name. Mongeard-Mugneret, Dominique Mugneret, Gerard Mugneret, and Georges Mugneret Gibourg. Of all the Mugneret estates, Domaine Georges Mugneret Gibourg is consistently the most outstanding estate. I was very excited when I knew I was visiting Domaine Georges Mugneret Gibourg, one of the finest addresses in Burgundy. Marie-Andrée Mugneret opened the garage door punctually for our 2:00 pm appointment. History Jeanne Gibourg married André Mugneret in 1928 and created Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg in 1933. Jeanne and André’s only son Dr. Georges Mugneret who was an ophthalmologist in Dijon decided to change career and pursuit the…

Domaine Vincent Dancer 2016

Vincent Dancer is one of my favourite producers in Burgundy. He grew up in Alsace and picked up photography as well as a love of wine from his father. Vincent came to Burgundy after completing his engineering degree and fell in love with the region. Vincent’s family had some vineyards rented out to relatives and Vincent gradually took in control of the vineyards and started making wines in Chassagne Montrachet. 1996 was Vincent Dancer’s first vintage. He started with 3.50 ha of vineyards in 1996…
